On June 1, 2014 the Calgary Marathon celebrated its 50th race. To celebrate this milestone, I was assigned to write a piece on the race’s history for Avenue‘s May issue. It was a privilege to meet and chat with Doug Kyle and Bill Wyllie, two of the men involved in getting the inaugural marathon up and running. Both men were incredibly humble about what they had achieved and had great stories to share — more than could fit into print. The article can also be found at avenuecalgary.com.
